Dr. Ken Fujioka, the author of the study, says that grapefruit has a compound which regulate insulin, a fat-storage hormone. And everything that lowers insulin helps you lose weight faster.

To enjoy the weight loss benefits of grapefruit is to use them with your spinach salad. Peel and quarter them, then cut into chunks and add to the salad. It's also a good compliment to shrimp or sliced, peeled jicama.



According to a research published in the International Journal of Obesity, eating almonds every day together with a healthy diet, will help you flush away the fat from your body. Participants of the study who ate almonds for six months lost 18 percent of their body fat. Those who have  a diet with the same amount of protein and calories but swapped the calories with almonds lost only 11 percent. A new research in Taiwan published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry says that chocolate, especially dark chocolate, is high in antioxidants and may help prevent fat cell accumulation.

The best way to include chocolate in your diet is to melt a half ounce of dark chocolate and spread it on a graham cracker. You'll only get 98 calories from this snack.


Beans are packed with resistant starch that has been proven to be an effective fat burner. Researchers at the University of Colorado said that if you eat beans or other foods filled with resistant starch, you will burn 25 percent more fat. To get the most of this resistant starch, saute onion and garlic n olive oil and add two cans of navy beans. The, puree and serve.
